Color of the week : Russian Roulette by essie

Just had a manicure done a couple of days ago and I'm loving the color.

Red nail polish never goes out of style (I don't care what anyone says!!!) and I find that the orange undertones adds a little twist on this classic red.

So if anyone out there is looking for gorgeous red, but something with a summery twist, Russian Roulette is the way to go.. Trust me!

Sudocrem : Magical cream?!

Talking about nappy rash cream on a beauty blog?! Have I lost it.. No!

Sudocrem is one my secret beauty products! It's an antiseptic healing cream typically used for babies bums, eczema and bed sores but works wonders for spots too. Just apply a thin layer to your face before you sleep and within a week or so you'll start to see miraculous changes.

I heard about Sudocrem after my grandma read an article about it in Vogue (I think?) and bought me a tub. I do admit I'm a bit of a self confessed product snob and my first thought pfft I'm not using this baby bum cream on my face, I'll stick to my Dermologica thank you very much! But after my cousin used it and saw results I thought why not, nothing to lose, might as well give it a shot and guess what.. Granny wasn't wrong!

*Pros: reduces redness, helps clear up spots and acne, inexpensive, gentle even on sensitive skin, actually works!!!!
*Cons: you might look like a bit of a fool walking around with nappy rash cream on your face; but all in the name of beauty, ey?

It can be purchased from any pharmacy or supermarket and as mentioned it's really cheap too. Along with being used for spots I use it for a number of other things such as cuts (I'm a major klutz and see to bump and bang into things on a daily basis), and I also use it après my Brazilian wax too!
Trust me.. and if you don't trust me, trust good ol' granny!

Moroccan Hair Oil : Review

A friend got this for me as a gift from her trip to Australia. Oh how my friends know me too well.. boomerangs and gimmicky kangaroos are a no no, but hair products.. yes please!

* What is Moroccan oil?

It's a special oil (also known as Argan oil) that comes from the Argan tree which grows in Morocco. And basically, this special oil helps restore shine and renew damaged hair, such as mine!

I don't know if any of you have been to Morocco (I went once on a family trip years ago), but let me tell you, the women there have SUCH nice hair, long and luscious, shiny and healthy!

Not only is it my new obsession, but a lot of celebrities love this product too! Jennifer Lopez, Amanda Seyfried, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry are all fans of Moroccan Oil.. and that's just to name a few!

Why I love this product:

* I hate hair products that leave residue, and build up, and make your hair look all greasy and yucky, so one of the main reasons I love this product is because even though it makes your hair ever so shiny and glossy, it doesn't leave you looking like the kid with the oily hair at school we all use to make fun of!

* After years of coloring and styling my hair, I've honestly seen amazing results with this product, it helps tame my frizz and is somehow miraculously making my damaged ends look a hell of a lot less damaged!

* It has made my hair easier to manage!! And that's a big deal.. I have very thick, unmanageable hair that takes forever to blow dry but after using this product for the last few weeks my hair is styling faster which is a big plus in my books!

To round this review up.. If you have frizzy, dry, damaged, lifeless hair and you want smooth, shiny, healthy locks, get this product asap.. trust me!

Helena Rubinstein Lash Queen mascara : Review

Lash Queen is my ultimate favorite mascara (apart from DiorShow, review on that later)!

Honestly ladies, it's my 'must have, can't live without' product of all time. I started using it when I was about 16, and 5 years later and a gazillion mascaras tried and tested, I still love it!
If I had a penny for how many people have asked me if I was wearing falsies (whilst wearing Lash Queen), I'd be a millionaire.. Well not really, but I'd definitely have a good few extra euros to spend!
I have been fortunately blessed with long, thick, curly lashes but lots of my friends have tried it too (after a recommendation from yours truly) and they love it too.

Why do I love this mascara so much you might ask? Well..

* It doesn't clump your eyelashes and makes them look all feathery and pretty.
* Gives ah-may-zing volume and length.
* I personally don't like waterproof mascaras and they're usually a killer to get off and although the Lash Queen has a waterproof version too, I feel like the normal one is just as good!

I've tried other Helena Rubinstein mascaras (such as the Feline one) but I think the original Lash Queen one is the best.. trust me!

Chanel Mat Lumière : LOVE!

After religiously using the Chanel Vital Lumière foundation for the last god knows how many years, I decided to give the Mat Lumière foundation a go after reading many raving reviews about it, and conclusion.. LOVE it!

The Mat Lumière is recommended for people with combination/oily skin whereas the Vital Lumière is for people with more normal/dry skin. I personally have normal(ish?) skin but I feel like the Mat Lumière stays perfect throughout the whole day.

Here's a summary of what I lurrvee about the Mat Lumière foundation :

* ML in my opinion gives a much better coverage than the VL, which is especially good for people like me with an uneven skin tone and small acne scars.
* Doesn't give off the 'I just lathered my face with a kilo of foundation look', so leaves the skin looking natural rather than cakey, which I'm pretty sure everyone can agree is a big no no!
* I felt that with the VL foundation I looked a bit oily by the end of the day, but with the ML I look as good at the end of the day as I did in the morning!
* I love the fact that both ML and VL are pump foundations as I personally find that much more hygienic for your skin.
* Both ML and VL are SPF 15 which is always a plus in my books! Gotta protect your skin ladies!

The only con would be that it's quite pricey but you only need about a pump and a half for full coverage and the bottle lasts for ages.. At least over 6 months (my last VL lasted me nearly a year)!

So in conclusion, I have officially converted to the Mat Lumière and even though it's quite expensive it's well worth the money, trust me!
