Sigma F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki Brush

I love receiving things in the mail - that aren't bills(!!) and I love makeup brushes - so when I recieved the Sigma F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki brush I was uber excited! I recieved this brush for free but all the views in this post and honest and my own!

I was really excited to receive this brush mainly because I've been hearing about Sigma brushes for well over a year now from beauty websites, beauty blogs and beauty videos on YouTube (don't forget to watch the video at the end of this post), and from what I've heard they're supposedly amazing, and dupes for MAC brushes!

First impressions...

It was sent on a Tuesday and arrived the following Monday; 6 days from the US to Ireland - pretty fast shipping right?!

It was securely packaged in a white box and the brush came in this cute red little bag along with a leaflet about the Sigmax brush range!

The very first thing I noticed about this brush when I took it out the little red bag was how soft the brush was!

What they say...

This exclusive flat top synthetic kabuki was designed to deliver a flawless makeup application. The Sigma Makeup F80 is a buffer brush that can be used to blend powder or liquid products. The short and dense bristles make it easy to buff your liquid foundation. The long handle adds comfort to your makeup application. The synthetic fibers are ideal to be used with liquid products and can be easily cleaned. Made of Synthetic Sigmax HD filament.

What I say...
So, I've been using this Sigma brush for nearly 2 weeks now and I'm really impressed!

Out of all the brushes I own, this one has the densest bristles - seriously they're so tightly packed together; the density really makes this brush unique!
The fact that this brush has such tightly packed bristles, means that it doesn't absorb your liquid foundation and you don't waste your product, unlike a lot of other foundation brushes. The product literally sits on the top of the brush - check out the picture below - and when you apply the foundation is buffs it in perfectly!

I already mentioned it but I'll say it again - this brush is so soft, I've never felt such a soft synthetic brush before.

It truly is a multipurpose brush - I've applied my liquid foundation with it, as well as powders such as blush and bronzer.

Although it's multipurpose, I personally love it for foundation - it really blends and buffs the foundation into your skin leaving you flawless and streak free with a natural finish, as well as distributing the product evenly; love love love!
I think it leaves with you the flawless finish because of how dense the bristles are?

Although I've personally been using it for foundation I've tried using it with powders too.
Because it's a flat top brush the edge of the brush works perfectly for contouring.

It didn't shed as I was applying my makeup, and I've already washed it 2 times and each time I washed it maybe the odd bristle came out but that was it - so yay minimal shedding!

Cleaning it was probably the only con - in general synthetic brushes are take a little more effort to wash. It took about 5 minutes to full clean it and overnight to fully dry. Check out my post on how I take care of my brushes!

Would I recommend this brush?

Yes - Overall it really is an amazing brush; multipurpose, applies foundation like a dream, inexpensive, good quality, doesn't shed... It pretty much has all the factors I look for in a good brush! I actually prefer this brush to my MAC Square Foundation Brush #191 - this Sigma brush makes applying my foundation so effortless!

This brush really lived up to its hype and if it's a reflection of the quality of other Sigma brushes then I definitely want to try out some more! This brush was just as good as any of my MAC brushes.

You can purchase this brush online here for $16 and make sure you check out all the other Sigma brushes here!

So do any of you guys have this brush? If so what's your opinion on it?

Do you love it as much as I do? What's your favorite Sigma brush, any must haves?

Pink and Crystals - NOTD

Before my nails broke (waahh!) I bought a nail crystal set from Claire's for some experimentation!

I've never applied crystals to my nails on my own before, so it was a bit of a challenge.

I'm not 100% satisfied with the results but it was my first time and practice makes perfect right?!

In the first picture I'm wearing No7 Speed Dry Nail Polish in Hot Pink and in the second picture I'm wearing Barry M Nail Paint in Pink Flamingo (#305).

Unfortunately my nails are all short and stubby at the moment but I'm growing them out again and will hopefully have some more nail art pictures up then!

I know it's very girly - pink and crystals, but I personally like the combination!
I just need to perfect it!

What do you think of the look? Yay or nay?
